How do I make sure NOCTAVIS does not "steal" my idea?

Apart from upholding our reputation as an ethical company that respects intellectual property. Our entire business model revolves around providing top-tier R&D, design, and industrial prototyping services to our clients. Compromising our integrity by stealing a client's idea would not only jeopardize our standing but also undermine the foundation of our entire business. Additionally, as we are not contract manufacturers (OEM or ODM), even if we were inclined to engage in such practices, we would not stand to gain any advantage from a stolen idea. Our clients can rest assured that such concerns are not applicable in our collaborative endeavors.

Patent or Develop first?

We adhere to a LEAN approach in product and business development, strongly advising patent filings only once you have progressed at least part-way through the development process. This is due to the cost of patenting, and early patents may risk becoming obsolete or irrelevant in later development stages. Typically, work of NOCTAVIS generates numerous opportunities for patenting at TRL-7, coinciding with the readiness of an early beta prototype and the startup's preparation for batch production and marketing.

Alternatively, a cost-effective strategy involves using provisional patents, which can be less stringent and need not be disclosed to the public for 18 months. These generally incur lower costs, typically below $500. NOCTAVIS is committed to signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement to maintain the confidentiality of your intellectual property during the development phase. When the time is right, we can also recommend several third-party patent attorneys to assist with the patenting process.
